Another Lullay at West (NL)
‘Another Lullay’ for clarinet (Lise Morrison), electric guitar (James Alexandropoulos-McEwan), and found object percussion (Ivan Vukosavljević) will be performed at the Onze Ambassade Festival at the former American embassy. West, in Den Haag on 5 September.
Cardiff University Music Group performs Staircase Wit (WAL)
‘Staircase Wit’ – a version for open instrumentation – was performed by the Cardiff University Contemporary Music Group at a special all South African concert organised and conducted by composer Rob Fokkens. This took place on 3 December 2019 at the Cardiff University School of Music.
Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra Call For Scores Finalist (USA)
‘Ninety Five’ for organ and ensemble has been selected as a finalist from over 2200 entries from composers in 90 countries in the 2019 Call for Scores by Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra (KCO) from Los Angeles, USA.

Gnesin Contemporary Music Week (RUS)
‘Tracing’ for violoncello and accordion will be performed by Ensemble Reheard at the Gnesin Academy in Moscow as part of the Gnesin Contemporary Music Week between 8 and 11 October 2019.

In Bloom: Second Edition





The second edition of In Bloom will feature the amazing Xtro, Hague-based percussion duo presenting a collection of varied pieces (including fixed media and dancer to their setup), Organo with their hauntingly beautiful debut piece (Abel Fazekas and Riccardo Marogna with bass clarinets, Aurelie Lierman with voice) and Kacper Ziemianin (Ctrl Freq) performs a set on his award-winning DIY instrument and performance system “LSe”, which creates programmed light patterns that generate music.
The second In Bloom happens at Korzo Theater in The Hague, Netherlands on 3 October 2019 at 20:30.
Tribina kompozitora (SRB) – International Review of Composers, Belgrade, Serbia
‘Ninety Five’ (a version for organ, violin, two voices, trumpet, accordion, and percussion) will be performed at the 28th International Review of Composers in Belgrade on 5 October 2019.

International Young Composers Academy in Tchaikovsky City (RUS)
Lise attended the Ninth International Young Composers Academy in Tchaikovsky City from August 30 from September 12, 2019, receiving lessons from Bryn Harrison, Martin Schüttler, and Bernard Cavanna. Her piece ‘Five Times Recycled’ was premiered by Ivan Bushuev (bass flute) from the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME) on 14 September in Moscow.



In Bloom (NL)
Lise has been invited, alongside composer-performer James Alexandropoulos-McEwan, to curate a series of concerts hosted by Korzo Theater in The Hague.
They select and present a showcase of young musicians and projects that haven’t yet broken to the surface. These are works developed by their peers and collaborators working in the local music and art scene – be it in the context of local squat-based and D.I.Y. concerts, or projects born from Dutch music and art academies. The first edition took place on 31 May 2019.

Neo-Fanfare 9X13 (NL)
Lise had the opportunity to (rediscover and) contribute arrangements of music by Moondog to the upcoming production of Dutch ensemble Neo-Fanfare. They will be touring with “Les Fauves” – with a premiére at Festival Classique – throughout The Netherlands in the summer.

The wonderful Cecilia Bignall and Iosif Purits (Duo Bayanello) will perform ‘Tracing’ as part of a concert on 14 May at the Borough New Music series alongside some other great pieces.

‘Staircase Wit’ was recently selected to be performed by NY-based Ensemble Mise-En at their annual MISE-EN Music Festival between 26 and 30 June 2019.

Freesound Series, Toronto (CA)

Release of ‘Live at Listenpony’ with Duo Bayanello
Duo Bayanello was created by accordionist Iosif Purits and cellist Cecilia Bignall in 2015.

Internationally renowned string quartet Quatuor Bozzini premieres ‘cleared air and delicate dust‘ at the Gaudeamus Muziekweek (KUUB Kunstruimte) to conclude the Composers Kitchen residency of 2018, alongside three great works by Solomiya Moroz, James Alexandropoulos-McEwan, and Adam Basanta.

Lucerne Festival Academy in August 2018 – Lucerne, (CH)
Invitational attendance at the Composers Seminar of the Lucerne Festival, led by Wolfgang Rihm and Dieter Amman, and a performance of ‘Staircase Wit’ for mixed ensemble performed by the Lucerne Festival Academy Alumni Ensemble.

SAMRO Overseas Scholarship Competition – Johannesburg (ZA)
Runner-up at the SAMRO (South African Music Rights Organisation) Overseas Scholarship Competition. I also received a special prize for best work in the category ‘IAM – Indigenous African Music’ for ‘Dololo’. Members of the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra also performs ‘Dololo’ for sextet and ‘Trio in Five Movements’ for piano trio at the gala event in the Linder Auditorium on Wits University Campus, Johannesburg.
